Media Moves

Previous Role: Director, Editorial Operations at Arizent

New Role: Deputy Editor, Commerce at MarketWatch

MP: MarketWatch Picks has a lot of great potential to be an exciting section that is a go-to source for people who are faced with tough decisions on how to spend, invest and make the most out of their money. I love editing and writing and it’s good to be doing it every day. I helped relaunch our Deal of the Day column this week which is not only fun to write but has allowed me to find some really great, useful deals online. I am seriously considering going in on the fitness tracker we found for today.

MP: My time at Arizent taught me to be incredibly organized, process-oriented, and detail-oriented. The skills I learned from my editors and the back-and-forths I had with reporters as managing editor at Financial Planning have been crucial.

MP: Learning the ins and outs of a new company after spending your career mostly in one place can be a little daunting. But so far, my new colleagues have impressed me — both by their work and how genuinely wonderful they are as people. I’m looking forward to continuing to partner with Catey, my boss,  in building our brand so that we become a go-to source for folks facing tough decisions on how to spend their money.
