Every year, we get a front-row view of the work PR teams put into their outreach. Beyond the headlines that come from your hard work, we see the relationship building behind the scenes that makes those stories possible.

 

To celebrate the work of PR teams and agencies in our network, we’re proud to announce that next month we’re launching our Agency Awards to recognize what excellence looks like in media relations.

How the Awards Work

The Agency Awards pull data from across the Qwoted network to understand how PR teams show up every day. We evaluate individual contributions across agencies of all sizes, focusing on consistent, positive activity, including:  

 

  • Pitch Performance: Teams with the highest success rates on pitches that generate positive replies from the media. This shows your ability to deliver relevant story ideas that resonate with what journalists need right now.
  • Responsiveness: How consistently team members answer reporters’ questions in our network, including response time and the quality of information provided when journalists need expert sources. This measures how reliably you show up when reporters reach out. 
  • Reporter Endorsements: We factor in feedback and rankings from journalists themselves, providing an insider look at how effectively PRs work alongside the media. 

 

The work extends far beyond the first pitch, and these metrics reveal what separates good PR from great PR.  We want to recognize those who approach communication as a practice, not a checklist, and put thought into every follow-up, treating each journalist interaction as the beginning of something larger. 

 

Setting You Up for Success

If you’d like to see your agency recognized in our Agency Awards, the foundation starts with the everyday choices your team makes. The journalists in our network can immediately tell the difference between a copy-paste response and a pitch tailored to their specific request. They notice when you’ve read their recent articles and remember when you delivered the right insights on a tight deadline. 

 

It’s important to remember that every interaction with a journalist builds your reputation. When your team delivers consistently, you become top of mind when they’re working on their next story.
