Media Moves

Contributing Writer at The New Yorker

Previous Role: Freelance Writer

MH: The New Yorker is my favorite magazine, and I’ve been reading it every week for decades, so I’m thrilled to have a more formal role here.

MH:  The biggest factor leading to this transition has been my primary editor, who’s terrific. Curiosity and conscientiousness have also helped along the way in my science and technology reporting.

MH: The most challenging aspect will be covering topics outside of what I normally cover, but learning new things is why I became a science writer. One of the most rewarding aspects will be having an expanded platform to share everything I learn and write.

Qwoted is committed to supporting the media by speaking to and highlighting journalists in their exploration of various roles. What changes are ahead? What learnings do you expect to be helpful in this new role?
